tl;dr – You’ll receive more XPs towards Flying Blue Elite Status if you meet the spending requirements.
The other day, I received a notification from Bank of America that my Air France KLM World Elite Mastercard will change to a Visa Signature credit card in late March.

Earlier this year, two noteworthy changes to the card’s earning structure took place:

Cardholders will now earn 3 FlyingBlue miles for every $1 spent on dining purchases.

Cardmembers will now earn an additional 80 XP on the account anniversary after spending more than $15,000 on purchases within the anniversary year. A cardholder who spends at least $25,000 within the anniversary year will receive an additional 60 XP.

Thus, if a higher-tier FlyingBlue status is one of your goals, spending on this credit card might get you there faster.
