tl;dr – This is bound to be a popular property among Hyatt loyalists.
The much-anticipated Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman Resort & Spa is now accepting reservations for its summer debut. Bookings are open for “Fall 2026” and onward. This is Hyatt’s first Hyatt property on the popular Caribbean island. That fact alone will make it a popular addition to the Hyatt portfolio.

Ok – I’m going to do you a solid. Before giving a rundown of the property’s offerings and sharing some photos, I’m going to recommend that you book it now. Like right now. Stop reading this (actually, just pause and return!) and redeem those World of Hyatt points for a few nights. I’m talking to everyone here, but specifically talking to you – the person who is often asking about family-friendly destinations where they can finally use their WOH points, suite night upgrades, and guest of honor certificates.

Given the recent news about Hyatt’s expanded peak pricing and the fact that Hyatt hasn’t yet dropped its updated property category list for 2026, you’ll want to go ahead and lock in a few nights on points, as it’s not going to look prettier after this. It could be a savvy move. The property enters World of Hyatt as a Category 8.

I checked, and there are a few off-peak rates at 35,000 points per night in October 2026. Most of the month is priced at 40,000.

November is mostly 40,000, though some nights are at 45,000, and January/February 2027 is firmly a 45,000 points affair.
A random cash rate in October priced out at $746. Cash rates climb north of $1000 a night during peak times.

Keep in mind that in the ‘new world,’ “Top” rates for a Category 8 property can rise to 75,000 points per night.
…So I really hope you paused reading my riveting prose to book this hotel.

Ok, back to it.

The property provides “diverse dining options from morning to night. [Guests can] start with coffee and bomboloni at Breadkind, enjoy coastal Mexican cuisine at Lo Tide, or indulge in ceviches at Hi Tide at sunset. For dinner, Salt + Cinder offers globally inspired dishes in an open-kitchen setting, while the Lobby Lounge serves cocktails, fine wines, and tapas in an elegant atmosphere.”

For amenities, the beachfront property has a large central pool with a swim-up bar. The hotel’s spa – Mera Spa – offers several revitalization treatments and includes an ice room, vitality pool, bio sauna, steam room, and hammam. There’s also both a state-of-the-art indoor fitness studio and an outdoor fitness area designed for circuit training. Yoga enthusiasts can practice in the resort’s meditation labyrinth.

Now this is the part I dilute everything I just said with a big word of caution here. Like both the Thompson Rome and Hyatt Regency Rome Central, this hotel’s opening has already been delayed a few times. In fact, just a few weeks ago, there was a banner ad on the site that said it was open for booking beginning “June 1, 2026.” As mentioned above, this has now changed to “Fall 2026.” Thus, if you are going to book it, you may want to try to snag dates as far out as possible to increase the chances of not having to move your reservation again.
Anyway, I always see folks online chatting about booking Baha Mar or some other Hyatt resort in the Caribbean – I have little to no doubt this property will be a popular one upon its debut. Best to grab a slot now at the pre-devaluation rates!
