tl;dr – Might as well get in before the points devaluation occurs.

Yet another installment of “Deals I’m Booking That You Should Book Too”, a weekly series where I walk you through a random (possibly more) curated deal(s) – points & miles, cash, otherwise (?) – that I find compelling for one reason or another. You can find the past installments here.

Today, we’re talking about traveling to southern Spain to visit the Andalusian city of Sevilla. Our accommodations? The Thompson Sevilla. Scheduled for an November 1, 2026 opening, I’m grabbing this hotel now before Hyatt’s devaluation kicks in. I’m doing a points advance booking, and I’m hoping this property might not be too much on the radar, too, as its doors haven’t opened yet.

The 101-room Thompson Sevilla could quickly become a favorite points hotel in the city. There aren’t a ton of first-class upscale points hotels – Marriott’s Hotel Alfonso XIII, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seville, might be the best of the bunch.

As far as the property’s offerings, there’s a yet to be named main restaurant which promises ‘a charming outdoor terrace and interior patio filled with daylight from the see-through roof.’ There also appears to be a rooftop (or patio?) bar.

There’s a rooftop pool that looks small, but welcoming.

A similarly small but light-filled fitness center.

All the rooms have the classic Thompson vibe – upscale furnishings but an aversion to doors, lol.

Here’s a snapshot of some available rates (points and cash). Again, I’m moving on these pre-devaluation:

Like some of the other not-yet-open hotels I’ve profiled in this series, such as the Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman, Hyatt Regency Rome Central, and Thompson Rome, there’s the risk that the hotel doesn’t open as scheduled. To hedge, I’m grabbing dates in 2027 to give the property a bit more time, and I’ll hold off on booking supporting travel (flights) as well.
