tl;dr – A flagship Hilton is coming to Langkawi.
This June, Hilton will debut the Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi Resort in Malaysia. Located on the island’s western end, the property sits just south of the famed Langkawi Sky Bridge.

The 251-room resort comprises garden-level rooms and spacious one-bedroom suites – some featuring private rooftop sanctuaries.

Guests can expect ‘standout wellness offerings’ – a forest-fringed outdoor sauna, onsen-style rock plunge pools, and a salt room.

The property will also have an executive lounge. It sounds like it’ll be pretty family-friendly as well – there’s both indoor and outdoor pools, a dedicated kids’ club, cooking and tea pavilions, and tennis and pickleball courts.

Opening rates start at 1066 Malaysian Ringgit – $273.77 (right now), and that same standard room on points costs 59,000 points per night.

This will be Hilton’s first property in the Malaysian beach destination, and the branding of this property as a flagship Hilton is an interesting choice here, and maybe a strategic one. Marriott has both a St. Regis and a Ritz-Carlton in Langkawi, as well as a Westin. Then there’s the Four Seasons Langkawi. Years ago, I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Langkawi and really enjoyed my stay. Perhaps, I’ll throw together an archive review if I can find enough photos.

With a more approachable price than its fellow major-chain-points-properties in Langkawi, (not to mention being family-friendly), I wouldn’t be surprise if the Hilton Burau Bay ends up becoming quite popular with Hilton Honors loyalists.
