Hilton Adds California Property to Its Nascent Outset Collection

Source: Hilton

tl;dr – A well-located property in a coastal Southern California city.

Last year, Hilton launched the Outset Collection, a soft brand that “features a range of hotels, with upscale finishes and story-driven designs,” and allows hotel owners to “balance strong product and service with a wider, more flexible range of experiences and amenities.” As of this writing, there are four of these “soulful, surprising indie hotels”, the latest of which is an addition to San Diego, California’s Gaslamp Quarter – The Margot Hotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, Outset by Hilton. Let’s take a quick look.

The Margot Hotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter

With 135 Rooms across 8 floors, The Margot Hotel provides access to nearby attractions like Petco Park, the San Diego Convention Center, and the Seaport Village. Notably, all its rooms are pet-friendly and include a gourmet kitchen and a washer-dryer combo unit.

It looks a bit like an ‘aparthotel’, conducive to a longer-term stay, though the nightly rates are somewhat higher than the typical price point.

Cash rates start out in the low $200s, and a standard room on points can be had for as few as 70,000 points per night.

As far as amenities go, the Margot Hotel has a fitness center and barbecue deck.

It doesn’t appear that the property has its own full-service restaurant, though that’s unlikely to be much of an issue given the ample dining options in the surrounding area.

Other locations of the Hilton’s Outset Collection include Moab, Utah, Chicago, and Richmond, Virginia.
