Four Seasons Coming to Chucktown: Opening in Charleston, South Carolina in 2028

Source: Four Seasons

Tl;dr – South Carolina will be getting its first Four Seasons hotel. The hotel is scheduled to debut in Charleston, SC, in 2028.

Yesterday, we talked about cruisin’ along with the Four Seasons, and today we’re back on land. If you haven’t yet had your fill of Conde Nast and AFAR articles claiming that ‘Charleston is just the quaintest little city that you need to visit,” you’re in luck, as I’m sure more will be on the way soon. Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts just announced its newest US project, the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Charleston. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2028, and it will immediately jump to the top of the list of ‘best luxury hotels’ in the city. Many of the premier hotels in Charleston are independently owned or part of smaller brands with less name recognition, so dropping a Four Seasons in the city’s historic district will attract some attention. Let’s dive in.

The Four Season Hotel and Residences Charleston

With 139 guest rooms and 36 branded residences, the Four Seasons Charleston will be located in the city’s ‘French Quarter,’ only steps away from popular thoroughfares like King Street.

Many consider Charleston a premier dining destination. I’ve always found the food there (or the entire city itself) to be overrated. That said, as the hotel will feature four restaurants and bars, I’d like to know if the Four Seasons will partner with any marquee chefs or restaurant groups to put out something impressive. Guests can enjoy an “outdoor pool with private cabanas and 650 square meters (7,000 square feet) of event space. You can bet there will be many swanky weddings and celebrations held at the Four Seasons.

Other amenities include “a full-service spa with private treatment rooms and hydro-thermal facilities, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and curated retail offerings.”

This is one of two notable luxury hotel brands set to arrive in South Carolina over the next few years. I’ll be covering the second in a bit.
