Marriott Just Opened a Wellness Resort on an Private Island of the Coast of Singapore

Tl;dr – The Westin Nirup Island Resort & Spa, Batam, is a wellness-focused resort close to Singapore.

Marriott recently opened the doors to The Westin Nirup Island Resort & Spa, Batam, located in Indonesia’s Riau Archipelago. The resort is approximately 40 minutes away from Harbour Bay Batam and a 20-minute ride from Singapore’s Harbourfront Terminal.

In case you’re rolling up with your yacht, there’s “exclusive yacht docking at the private marina, ensuring a smooth transition into paradise.”

If you’re not cruising in on your own boat, you can arrange transportation with the hotel or catch a ferry from the public terminal.

The Westin Nirup Island is a 94-key outlet comprising guest rooms and suites that are all equipped with ‘expansive balconies, outdoor spaces or terraces that frame stunning views of the Singapore skyline.’ The development includes 52 private villas.

There are four dining outlets: Island Kitchen, the flagship all-day full-service restaurant; Nirup Social Bar & Lounge, a ‘relaxing daytime lounge that transitions into a sophisticated evening retreat’; Salt Simply Seafood, an ocean-to-table experience with panoramic sea views; and Constellate Pool Bar, optimized for sunset views.

As this is a Westin property, guests can expect the trademark Heavenly Spa and WestinWORKOUT Fitness studio, as well as other active offerings, including “sunrise yoga sessions, guided island treks, and invigorating water sports, embracing the island’s untouched beauty and tranquility.”

Rates are pretty affordable. The lowest price I could find was 3,420,000 IDR or $209.69 (at the time of writing). Points rates start at 34,000 points per night and peak at 59,000.

I believe this property is a reflag, having been previously managed by Accor as a The Riahi Nirup Island M Gallery Hotel and Residences.
