beOnd Airlines and Gulf Air Partner on Codeshare

Source: beOnd Airlines

tl;dr – A partnership that aimed at extending each carrier’s network.

Maldivian carrier beOnd Airlines and Gulf Air recently announced a codeshare agreement. Headquartered in Dubai and based at Velana International Airport near Malé, beOnd coins itself as the “world’s first premium leisure airline.”

Gulf Air is Bahrain’s flag carrier based in Muharraq. The airline operates scheduled flights to 65 destinations in 38 countries across Africa, Asia, and Europe.

As part of this deal, beOnd Airlines will benefit from Gulf Air’s extended network, particularly in Europe, making it easier for passengers originating from or flying to major European cities to enjoy a vacation in the Maldives. Gulf Air will similarly benefit from offering its passengers a premium experience to the Maldives on beOnd’s fleet.

Some reports indicate that the deal also calls for a loyalty program link-up, but I couldn’t find anything to substantiate it.
