tl;dr – One of Bangkok’s best hotels and an institution in Lake Tahoe have joined Preferred Hotels.
Preferred Hotels, the world’s largest independent hotel brand, recently added two notable properties to its 600+ portfolio – the Dusit Thani Bangkok and Edgewood Tahoe Resort.

Bangkok has no shortage of marquee hotels, including the Capella Bangkok, which was once named the best hotel in the world. I’ve never stayed at the Dusit, and while I wouldn’t put it in the same tier as the city’s best of the best, it’s a solid spot that is very well reviewed and particularly praised for its outstanding location. As Preferred Hotels can be booked on points (both through its I Prefer and for some properties, with Choice Privileges Points), the Dusit Thani might be yet another upscale points-ready option in the “Big Mango”.

In South Lake Tahoe, Preferred added the Edgewood Tahoe Resort. Situated right on the lake, guests can “hike, bike, ski, kayak, parasail, or unwind in the lakefront heated pool, with epic mountain views.” There’s also “a George Fazio-designed 18-hole course for any avid golfers.”

Similarly to the Dusit Thani, I’ve never stayed at this property…but I did enjoy a meal at the Edgewood Restaurant several years ago. Admittedly, it was likely over a decade ago at this point, though I do remember the Elk Chop being super solid, and there were great views to take in as I dined.

Solid additions by Preferred here.
