This is What Post-Game In-Flight Dining Looks Like for an NFL Team

tl;dr – I’m curious about the NFL’s obsession with one item in particular.

Recently, a passenger flying to Rome on board American Airlines found the in-flight menu from one of the aircraft’s previous journeys. The NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles chartered the plane and used it to return to Philly after the team’s game against the Bills in Buffalo, NY (Orchard Park). Evidently, the passenger found the menu in one of the seatback pockets:

First off, if you’re curious as to why this aircraft, which flies to Rome, would be the team’s charter plane. This is a wide-body jet (787), and it makes sense that you’d need a plane like that to accommodate large, football-sized humans.

Now, let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Uncrustables?

Evidently, NFL players consume these things by the truckload. I’ve never had one. Are they good? I’m intrigued but also skeptical. There’s also a more-interesting-than-I-expected wiki about the ‘sealed crusted sandwich.’

Everything about them makes me believe they are heavily processed and probably terrible for you, but also delicious and likely to be my downfall if I ever pick one up.
