Purchase HawaiianMiles with a Bonus of Up to 50% – Possibly Better Deal than the Alaska Points Sale

tl;dr—Hawaiian Airlines is offering a bonus of up to 50% when you purchase miles. If you’ve identified a good redemption using HawaiianMiles or Alaska Mileage Plan miles, this might be a good deal for you.

Through May 21, 2025, you’ll receive a bonus of up to 50% on your purchase of HawaiianMiles. This could be a decent opportunity to up your mileage balance for a savvy redemption. Keep in mind that there’s a concurrent sale for discounted MileagePlan miles. As mileage balances are freely transferrable between the two airlines (1:1 ratio) since their merger, you’ll want to purchase miles at the program where you receive the best deal. In my case, since I only was targeted for a 40% discount on the Alaska sale, it would be more cost-effective for me to purchase HawaiianMiles and then transfer them over to MileagePlan as needed.

In contrast to Alaska Mileage Plan, Hawaiian Airlines doesn’t run as many sales. Over the last year we saw a few promotions offering a 100% bonus on the purchase of HawaiianMiles. Those deals may have been pre-merger sweeteners and it’s unclear if an offer that good will return.

Additionally, Hawaiian Airlines is a transfer partner of American Express so as a result, you can also use Amex Membership Rewards to top of your Hawaiian balance, then transfer those miles to to Alaska Mileage Plan.
