tl;dr – Do you really want to pay $ 1,000 a night in Cancun?

We’re back with another installment of “Deals I’m Booking That You Should Book Too”, a weekly series where I walk you through a random (possibly more) curated deal(s) – points & miles, cash, otherwise (?) – that I find compelling for one reason or another. You can find the past installments here (and yes, many more volumes are on their way as I catch up – I have forgotten!). Ok, let’s dive in.

Experience Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets, an All-Inclusive, Adults-Only Resort for Just $26

Recently, I posted two different articles, one about taking the contrarian approach to your next beach vacation – crash somewhere convenient and affordable and then ‘daypass crawl’ your day to different hotels and resorts. The other was a brief rundown of the leading applications for booking day-use rooms. This deal kinda puts those two together.

A room at the Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets, an All-Inclusive, Adults-Only resort, can range from $900 to $1,300+ per night for two adults. The resort, situated off the coast of Cancun, is a popular one amongst Hyatt loyalists. However, that pricepoint for a place like Cancun isn’t one that I’d likely spend, so when I caught that you could enjoy part of this property for a fraction of that price, I figured I have to profile it.

Firing up ResortPass, I find that daytime rooftop access pool access at the Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets, an All-Inclusive, Adults Only costs $116 (pre-taxes and fees).

Here’s what it includes:

Notably, you have complimentary transport – you can ride the resort’s ferry to and from Cancun. The big winner is the $100 food and beverage credit. If you max that out during your stay (which is valid for up to 11 hours, btw, though you’d have to find your own way back), you’d be in $16 net on the pre-tax and fees cost of the day pass. Not a bad deal at all.

Reviews of the experience are pretty positive, with guests indicating that the visit to the property kicks off with a tour/walkthrough of the campus before posting up on the lush rooftop.

As far as the $26 figure, here’s where that comes from. The all-in costs (taxes and fees included) are $146.10. However, if you’re new to ResortPass (or can create a new account), you can sign up with this referral link for $20 off your first purchase. Thus, factoring in the $20 discount on your first Resort Pass purchase and the $100 food and beverage credit, you could pay a net of ~$26 for this day of luxe fun and sun.

I’m not too much of an all-inclusive guy to begin with, but if you told me I could scratch the curious itch of this Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets property for pennies on the dollar – I’m going to do it.
