tl;dr – A decent offer if you’re planning some big spend with Air France or KLM.
Amex recently released a solid offer for Air France and KLM. You can earn a $400 statement credit on spend of $200 or more with Air France.US of KLM.com.

A few things to note here. First, the offer states that you need to spend a minimum of $2,000 on ‘one or more’ qualifying purchases, so if you need to purchase multiple smaller fares that total 2K (as opposed to one heftier fare), that should also trigger the offer. Additionally, your purchase(s) must be for travel that originates in the US. Lastly, there are some exclusions/exceptions worth reading through to make sure you’re not spending on products that are not ‘qualifying purchases.’

To me, this is a great opportunity to snipe a business-class fare for just over $1600. One of Blackbeard’s pocket rules is that if you’re savvy, most business class fares shouldn’t cost you more than $1500/$1600 out of pocket when you take advantage of purchasing points and miles while they are on sale. Exhibits A, B, and C. If you can find an Air France or KLM fare that tops out at $2K, you’ll be right in the ball park of that rule.
As a reminder, you’ll need to add the offer to your card in your Amex dashboard, and you must pay with a designated credit card to trigger the statement credit.
