Pro-Tip: Plotting Your Last-Minute Pre-Devaluation Hyatt Strategy? – Don’t Forget About These Hotels!

Source: You Are Travel

tl;dr – Turn over every stone.

If you’re like me, by now you’re tired of hearing about Hyatt’s upcoming award chart changes. The day is nearly upon us, and by next week, we’ll be living in the bizarre world of ‘our award chart is still category-based, but we baked in ‘fixed-dynamic’ pricing to be edgy.’

Anyway, in addition to the Globalist points advance tool I’ve written about previously, I wanted to provide another tip anyone can take advantage of: Book hotels that are open for reservations but haven’t opened their doors to the public yet.

To be clear, you’re likely optimizing for location and brand here, as with no existing reviews to go off of, you’re chasing intrigued (e.g., ‘I’ve always wanted to go there.’)

I’ve already featured a few intriguing properties in my Deals I’m Booking That You Should Too series, such as the upcoming Hyatt Regency Rome Central, Thompson Rome, Thompson Sevilla, and Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman Resort & Spa.

Here’s another resource that might prove helpful. Hyatt’s list of expected pipeline properties for 2026.

A simple change of the URL delivers the list for 2027 (weirdly, I had to enter ‘2025’ to get the 2027 list; I guess they haven’t updated the link).

You can sort by region and expected opening quarter (Q1, Q2) on each list.

If you’ve got a ton of points to deploy, then the [upcoming] world is your oyster.

Even if you don’t have a ton of points but happen to be a Globalist, I’d encourage you to go crazy and reserve what you can. If a hotel is open for reservations and has an award chart, it should still accept Globalist points advance bookings, which, again, prior to May 20th, should reflect the pre-devaluation rates.

A bit of caution. I’d refrain from making any sort of supporting travel reservations (flights, trains) until you have clarity as to whether your upcoming hotel booking is going to go through as planned.
